Types of neck injury

Below are some of the types of neck injuries categorized into their severity.

neck-injury1. Muscle Spasm
Muscle spasm happens due to a number of reasons. Merely sitting in front a computer for too long could cause muscle spasm. It’s also caused by lack of stretch exercises, and a result of injury or postural problems.

2. Muscle Strain

Muscle strain can be very risky because it can sometimes be microscopic. Muscle strains happens when there is a tear in the little muscle fibers and causes them to slide over one another, causing friction and contraction. This can result from lifting heavy weights, whiplash, or extreme contact sports

3. Stinger
A stinger happens when the neck is suddenly twisted or rotated excessively. A stinger is occurring if you’re feeling a stinging, burning sensation on your neck area. One of the most common causes of stinger is also playing contact sports, especially football.

4. Fracture

Fracture is a break in the bone, which is one of the most serious cases when we’re talking about neck injuries. Paralysis could happen due to fracture of bone in the neck area. Paralysis happens due to the spinal cord damage obtained from the injury. The less serious results of fracture are numbness, tingling, and pain in the neck. Common causes of neck fractures are falls, car crashes, and different sports activities.
