Ways to Prevent Stiff Neck
Waking up with a stiff neck can be very inconvenient. It reduces the movement of our heads. It is painful when we try to move them. We can’t engage in the normal activities that we do. Many can’t come to work or school because of the stiff neck. How can we prevent stiff neck?
Stick neck almost always happen while we are sleeping. We should avoid using very high stack of pillows. We should also avoid sleeping without any pillows. We can also prevent stick neck by not sleeping on our stomach which causes our neck to be bent sideways while we are sleeping.
Another way to prevent stiff neck is to exercise the muscles in our neck. Muscles support our neck and just like the part of a car, if they are not used or oiled, they will cause us problems. Simple neck rotations and neck stretches in the morning can help us strengthen our neck.
When we can, it is also helpful if we have our neck massaged. Massaging the neck relaxes and stretches the neck muscles. During prolong work or drive, we can also massage our necks once in a while or exercise our necks.
These are some ways by which we can prevent stiff neck. We all know how painful and inconvenient it can be to have stiff neck. Make sure that we have the correct posture and pillows while sleeping, we exercise and massage our neck muscles to make sure that we will not have a stiff neck.
